The Power of Positive Thinking

Think-positive-450x337
Positive thinking focuses your mental and emotional attitude on the bright side of life and expects positive results.  Keeping a positive mindset will affect your health as well as your overall state of well-being.  When you experience pleasant and happy feelings your eyes become brighter, you have more energy, and happiness becomes contagious. Your voice is also more powerful, you walk taller, and display positive body language. Negative thoughts, words and attitude create negative and unhappy feelings, moods and behavior. This leads to toxins being released into your blood stream causing more imbalance and negativity.  So it is important to keep everything positive in your life.

16 ways to help you keep a positive mindset
1). Ignore negative people, and what they say about you. Only focus on the positive aspects of yourself.
2). Use your imagination and visualize positive and beneficial things happening in your life.
3). Focus on using positive words when speaking with others and your inner dialogue.
4). Smile more
5). If you start thinking negatively quickly replace those negative thoughts with positive ones.
6). Start living in the moment instead of the past or future. You can’t change the past, and if you are happy now, your future will tend to be happy also.
7). Read positive thinking books to help you with your transition to a more positive way of life.
8). Believe you can succeed.
9). Engage in physical activity.
10). Watch a funny movie.
11). Surround yourself with people who are positive and happy.
12). Believe you deserve good things in your life.
13). Find beauty in everything.
14). Be OK with change.
15). Meditate. Meditation will help your mind become clear which encourages positive thought.
16). Create a vision board. This will help you concentrate and maintain focus on the good things you want in your life.
The Laws of attraction state that positive thoughts generate positive feelings and attract positive life experiences.

10 Ways to Stay Healthy During the Fall and Winter

Chillier weather is fast approaching.  This means flu, colds, staying inside more and just losing motivation to stay active.  I’m going to suggest some tips that will help prevent common illnesses and inspire a healthy and active season.   Most of these tips should be practiced year-round, but is extremely important during cold weather months when we are especially susceptible to getting sick.
  1. Exercise. Head to the gym to stay out of the cold and workout at least an hour, 3days a week. Bundle up and take walks or go for a hike. It’s important to get at least 15mins a day in of exercise.

    2. Try a new workout or find a class to join. Something new and different tends to create excitement and hold your interest longer.
    3. Warm up inside before a workout to get blood flowing to the muscles. Cold and stiff muscles are more prone to injury. Consider jumping jacks, a jog on the treadmill or cycling.
    4. Try Yoga or Pilates. Yoga is a great way to keep muscles limber and take a stress break. Pilates builds strong core muscles and can improve posture.
  2. Clothing. Wear the right clothes when exercising when it is cold out. Polypropylene provides great insulation but minimizes moisture loss. Gore-Tex is a fabric used widely for providing protection from the rain and wind.
  3. Healthy diet. Eat more Fruits and vegetables, with minimal amounts of organic meats. You need to keep your body in good shape with clean healthy foods.

Anti-Aging Tips

Everyone wants to live a longer, fuller life, but the fountain of youth hasn’t been found or invented yet. In this blog, I’m going to explain three ways to help you feel and look younger; while helping you live longer.

Most people do not drink enough water. Water provides skin cells with hydration; this will lead to a softer, moister complexion with less wrinkle formation. Wrinkles are formed when the skin is dry, tight and flaky.  Drinking water will help detoxify your body. It removes unwanted wastes and toxins. Without plenty of water you can become unhealthy; leading to acne, constipation, urinary tract infections, and fatigue. The right amount of water for you to consume each day is different for everyone. Use this formula to calculate what is right for you: your weight in pounds divided by 2 will give you the amount in ounces of water to consume each day.

Eating certain foods will help provide anti-aging benefits. Pomegranates will give you softer skin. This fruit is high in vitamin C, which helps guard against over exposure to ultraviolet rays.  Sun damage, as most are aware, leads to wrinkles. Pomegranates also contain polyphenol compounds that fight free radicals, and a super nutrient that increases the preservation of collagen, to make your skin look smooth and plump.  Blueberries are full of antioxidants. This provides your skin with protection from free radicals, sun damage, emotional stress and over exercising. Spinach and Kale contain antioxidant compounds to help with sun damage. Also spinach is loaded with lutein and beta-carotene that improves skin's elasticity. Drinking green tea will help diminish the appearance of brown spots on your skin as you age. The tea contains catechins, which prevent sun damage, provide antioxidants that combat free radical damage, and reverse the effects of aging. Lastly using Olive oil for cooking will help your heart circulate your blood leaving your skin rosy and supple. This is because olive oil contains good fats that are high in Omega-3s.

Taking Enada NADH helps with anti-aging by protecting your cells from damage by toxic agents. It also promotes damaged cell and tissue repair, increases energy production in the cells, and extends the lifespan of cells, tissues and organs. Another benefit  is that when heart cells are incubated with Enada NADH, ATP concentration inside the heart cells increases. Since the heart cells have more ATP energy, they can function better and live longer with Enada NADH.

Start incorporating these tips little by little and you’ll start noticing the effects of looking younger and having more energy.

Benefits of Coconut oil

Coconut oil is one of the best super foods available today. The positive effects are numerous from skin care, helping aid in weight loss and mental health. To get the best benefits you need to buy organic, virgin cold pressed coconut oil. Here is a list of the top 7 reasons to start adding coconut oil into your life.
  1. Use coconut oil to fight infection. Either have a spoonful of the oil or rub some on the infected area. Since it is made up of lauric acid, which dissolves the cellular walls of viruses, bacteria, protozoa and fungi, it kills the harmful pathogens. Consuming the oil daily will also aid in preventing infections from forming in the future.
  2. Great for Dental care. Oil pulling with coconut oil aids in keeping your mouth healthy. Oil pulling is swishing oil in your mouth for 15 minutes. and then spitting it out. The oil soaks up bacteria, viruses, and other organisms hiding in-between your teeth. By creating a daily routine this will whiten teeth, detox your mouth, alleviate halitosis, reduce gingivitis, help prevent cavities, and relieve gum and tooth sensitivity.
  3. Aids in weight loss. Coconut oil increases energy expenditure by 5% in a 24 hour period, leading long term weight loss. Also helps regulate your appetite and improve digestion. You can switch to using coconut oil for all your cooking and baking needs. This way you are using it on a regular basis and making your meals healthier.
  4. Coconut oil is great for skin care and anti-aging. You can benefit by just applying it directly to your skin. It provides protection from harmful UV radiation, heals damaged skin, reduces signs of aging, fades stretch marks, and helps reduce cellulite by strengthening the epidermis. It has this effect because it is full of the antioxidant vitamin E, and is a natural moisturizer.
  5. Makes your hair healthier. Since coconut oil is a natural moisturizer, it works great as a deep conditioner, smoothes flyaways, helps get rid of dandruff, adds strength, and shine. Also, it will protect your hair from sun damage and dehydration.
  6. Keeps your brain healthy and sharp. Coconut oil contains medium chain triglycerides, which are metabolized easier in your body. It will help with memory loss, depression and neurological disorders.

Co-E1 Enada NADH: Cinco De Mayo Health Tip!

Cinco de Mayo, for those who may not know means the fifth of May, also known as the Anniversary of the Battle of Puebla, national holiday in Mexico in honor of a military victory in 1862 over the French forces of Napoleon III. Cinco de Mayo today has become a day to throw a party and have a little too much to eat and drink, but did you know these facts about today:
  • The holiday celebrates an unexpected victory. The holiday actually celebrates the Mexican victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. The Mexican army won the battle despite being smaller and ill-equipped.
  • Cinco de Mayo is not Mexican Independence Day. That occurred 50 years prior to the Battle of Puebla. It is celebrated on September 16.
  • Cinco de Mayo is a bigger deal in the United States. In Mexico, the day is observed with political speeches and battle reenactments. Many of the actual celebration and battle re-enactment take place in Puebla.
  • In fact, the world's largest Cinco celebration takes place in Los Angeles. This year's Festival de Fiesta Broadway is expected to draw 300,000 people. Cities like New York City, Denver and Houston also throw large parties in honor of the day.
Celebrations in the United States often extend beyond the actual day to encompass an entire week, with parades and festivals that include music, dancing, and food. If you are a fan of Cinco de Mayo and want to celebrate but don't want to blow your diet, here are some fit health tips on how to skip calories but not flavor!

Skip lettuce go with cabbage!
Cabbage is a more nutritious taco topping than lettuce. Cabbage is filled with antioxidants and is an excellent source of vitamin C, providing roughly one-third of your recommended daily intake in just one cup. A cup of iceberg lettuce, by contrast, provides only about 3 percent of your daily dose.

As an added bonus, cabbage packs a crunchy bite and comes in a variety of colors, ranging from bright purple to green, that look great on your plate.

Skip the ground beef, go with fish
Fish is a leaner protein and full of heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids and is lower in calories than ground beef. Swapping beef for fish also cuts down on dietary cholesterol.

Skip store bought, go with homemade
Yes, making guacamole in your own kitchen takes time, but store-bought varieties are often loaded with preservatives and firming agents, like sodium benzoate and calcium chloride.

Some mass-produced guacamoles also are surprisingly high in sodium. For example, Trader

Joe's Reduced Guilt Chunky Guacamole contains no fewer than 280 milligrams (or 12 percent of your daily limit) per two-tablespoon serving.

Mass-produced salsas typically contain processed ingredients (such as tomato paste and dehydrated onions), but the real health downer is the sodium. Just two tablespoons of Tostitos Chunky Salsa, for instance, contains 250 milligrams of sodium, about 10 percent of your daily limit. And who stops at just two tablespoons?

Pico de gallo (also known as salsa fresca), an easy-to-make mixture of minced vegetables and chiles, offers a similar kick of flavor and spice, but with roughly one-fifth the sodium.

Skip re-fried, go with whole beans
Beans are loaded with filling fiber, but they can add sodium and fat when re-fried and packaged in can. Choose whole bean, non-refried, or low-fat canned varieties when you are looking for convenience, or buy dry beans if you have time to make them from scratch.

Enada NADH Tip: Olive Oil for Around the House

Lets talk about one of our favorite all natural oils: Olive Oil. We all know that olive oil is great to cook with but did you know that it has many other around the house and beauty uses! Here 4 other great ways to use olive oil!

Removing Stickers
Paper stickers can be a real pain, and they can leave a sticky residue on a variety of surfaces, especially glass. Dab a bit of olive oil onto the residue and give it a rub with a soft cloth. No more residue.

Un-sticking a Zipper
If you've ever tried to un-stick a zipper, you know how tough it can be. Olive oil can be applied to a cotton ball and dabbed on a zipper to help loosen the mechanism. It doesn't take much to work, but it is effective. Just be careful not to get the oil on your clothes.

Hair Conditioner
Is your hair as dry and brittle as sagebrush in the desert? Put the moisture back into it by heating 1/2 cup olive oil (don’t boil it), and then liberally applying it to your hair. Cover your hair with a plastic grocery bag, then wrap it in a towel. Let it set for 45 minutes, then shampoo and thoroughly rinse.

Hand Moisturizer
A big bottle of olive oil is a lot cheaper than designer hand lotion, but it turns out it can be equally as effective. The best time to use olive oil as a hand moisturizer is at night since it will stay on your skin for a while before it fully dries. Wear soft gloves to bed for amazingly smooth hands in the morning.
